The Damascene Woman is Idlib’s Girl. Empowering Women 2017-2019

Displaced women have the right to live and integrate in the societies to which they

were displaced to, so the project “The Damascene Woman is Idlib’s Girl” was for

women who were displaced from the areas of Damascus and its countryside to Idlib

with the aim of integrating them into the Idlib society and opening job opportunities

for them and their contribution. Also, to help transfer their experiences to the

women of Idlib and vice versa as well. The project targeted approximately 200

women with a number of courses, including weaving, hairdressing, cooking,

accessories making, and secretarial courses. In addition, this program gave these

women the chance to communicate with other displaced women and exchange their
